Our Engagement

  • Our Engagement

I woke up on Easter morning and Kevin had told me that he hid an Easter basket for me. I had given up candy for Lent, so I was super excited to find my basket. I eventually found it hidden in the laundry basket. Of course, as soon as I found it I started eating whatever candy I could get my hands on. Kevin sat there so calmly while I enjoyed a few Bullseyes and a Laffy Taffy. After about 10 minutes of us hanging out on the couch, he asked "Is there anything else in there?" I had already discovered the tea, a couple bottles of wine, and a bunch of candy... then I noticed a gold egg. At that point I noticed a look on Kev's face and I could tell he was a little nervous. I then opened the egg and knew exactly what it was. Kevin then got down on one knee and asked "Will you marry me?" and I of course said yes (well, according to Kevin, I said "I will"). That morning Kevin also gave me my grandmother's engagement ring; the ring had been passed down to my mother (she gave it to Kev) and now to me... It was incredibly special! After that we went on a walk around the block; it was such a gorgeous spring day. I feel so blessed that we were able to then share the big news with Kevin's family at Easter brunch and my family at Easter dinner. What a perfect day!
